How we handle your data

Written in the language people actually use, because a notice nobody finishes reading has not told anybody anything.

Who this is

Marketplace — B2B Real Estate decides what happens to the information on this site.

Where this notice says “we”, it means Marketplace — B2B Real Estate.

What we collect, and when

When you send an enquiry, book a viewing or ask a question, we keep what you typed — your name, your phone number or email, your message, and which property or development you were looking at. That is the enquiry itself; there is no way to answer you without it.

If you create an account we keep your name, your email address, and the properties you save or search for.

If you save a property without an account, your browser is given an identifier so the list is still there when you come back. It is set at the moment you press save, and never before — a visit that only reads pages stores nothing.

If you accept the notice at the bottom of the page, we also record which pages were looked at and what was clicked, against that same browser identifier. If you decline, or simply never answer, none of it is recorded.

Our servers keep ordinary request logs, including the address your request came from. They are what stops the public forms being used to send bulk messages.

Cookies

A sign-in cookie, which exists only while you are signed in and is what keeps you signed in.

A saved-properties cookie, set when you save something without an account, so the list survives the next page.

A cookie recording your answer to the notice about measurement, so we do not ask again on every page.

We set no advertising cookies and there are no third-party trackers on this site.

Who sees it

Your enquiry goes to the agency whose property you enquired about, and is read by their staff. No other agency can see it.

A property listing is public — that is what a listing is. Your enquiry is not, and neither is your saved list, your searches, or anything you have viewed.

We do not sell anything about you, and we do not pass anything to anybody for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

An enquiry is kept for as long as the matter it concerns is live, and afterwards for as long as we are required to be able to show what was agreed and when.

An account is kept until you ask for it to be erased. A browser identifier expires a year after its last use, and the record of your answer about measurement expires after six months.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold about you, in a form you can read.

A correction, if something is wrong.

Erasure. Where a record has to survive — a completed transaction, for example — what identifies you is removed from it rather than the record being destroyed, and it stops being about you.

To object to the measurement described above, which you can also do simply by declining, or by clearing this site’s cookies.

If you have an account, the Your data screen does the first and the last of these immediately, without asking anyone.

How to ask

Ask Marketplace — B2B Real Estate using whichever address you have been dealing with them on.

If you have an account, Your data takes a copy of everything we hold about you, and erases it.
